Stallings has his Man
The “break-up” season continues to roll on for the caddies of the APTC. Two days following the announcement of Jon Yarbrough leaving Scott Stallings to begin working for Hunter Mahan, we have received confirmation that Stallings has found his bagman. After working for Tim Clark since 2014, Jay Haas Jr. will be touting the bag in 2016 for Stallings.
Golf is in the Blood
Haas Jr., is the son of Tour Veteran and 2016 US Presidents Cup Captain Jay Haas Sr. and older brother of current PGA Professional, Bill Haas. Add in his Uncle Jerry, a former PGA Player, and there is no doubt the golfing gene runs deep.
Jay Jr., who played collegiate golf at Augusta State University and spent some time on the professional circuit, has had stints caddying for his younger brother on the PGA Tour, where the two capped off a FedEx Cup Championship in 2011.
What started out as a promising 2015 with a 2nd place finish at the WGC-HSBC Championship turned quickly south as Tim Clark due to injury, was forced to sit out 5.5 months of the season. This resulted in a 121st place finish in the FedEx Cup Standings and only 8 cuts being made. For any caddie, stints such as this can be straining. Without consistent work it is difficult to know when the next check will come in. We are all hoping 2016 will be a much more consistent and lucrative season for Haas Jr and the Stallings Team.
Stay tuned as we will continue to update you on future caddie changes being made through the season. And don’t forget to visit our Caddie Collection to purchase your Outside Dog T’s, yardage books and Kingmade Jerky.
Thank you for all of your support of the Caddie profession and the APTC.
